Mathew Baynton on Ghosts, clowning and his inner Regency era poet

If only the director could see their Narrator Three now. The snub marked the beginning of Baynton’s steady rise to Brit-com stardom, from comic turns like the innocent but inane Deano in Gavin and Stacey (2008-2010), to creating and starring in several dearly beloved sitcoms, the most recent being BBC One’s Ghosts (2019-).

Gavin and Stacey is coming back this Christmas for one last episode

James Corden and Ruth Jones hold up the script for the finale of Gavin and Stacey

The former host of The Late Late Show has confirmed that the finale of the beloved BBC sitcom will air on BBC One on Christmas Day in 2024.

The post also confirmed that Corden has written the special with co-creator Ruth Jones, who also plays the other half of his relationship in the show, Nessa.

Fans will be hoping for proper closure after the last Christmas special (2019) ended on a huge cliff-hanger when Nessa proposed to Smithy (Corden).

They’ll also get to check in on their on-screen son Noel Edmond Smith, aka “Neil the Baby.”

Michael Sheen discusses his directoral debut The Way

Wales is in flames after a strike at the Port Talbot steelworks spirals out of control, forcing the Driscoll family to flee their home and country. Such is the premise of The Way, by turns doggedly realistic and fantastical, but always highly watchable.

The ambitious three-part BBC One drama, which imagines a civil uprising in Wales, is written by James Graham and marks Michael Sheen’s debut as a TV director. And, unusually, has the creative input of the iconoclastic documentary film-maker Adam Curtis.

2022’s show saw Doctor Who’s new companion exclusively revealed on stage, included segments from The Repair Shop, Blankety Blank and The Weakest Link, and featured live performances from Lewis Capaldi and Diversity. £35 million was raised for charity.
