The Great British Break Off: Will you still watch?

Contract negotiations with the BBC broke down when the corporation reportedly wouldn't match Channel 4's offer.

The shock announcement was followed by the news that presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc would not be following the show after it left BBC One. Star judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood have not yet confirmed if they will stay with the production.

The three-hour fundraising extravaganza will also be hosted by ex-Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc, comedians Jason Manford and Chris Ramsey, and sports stars Alex Scott MBE and Ade Adepitan MBE. Lenny Rush’s new post means he will be the youngest presenter CIN has ever had.

2022’s show saw Doctor Who’s new companion exclusively revealed on stage, included segments from The Repair Shop, Blankety Blank and The Weakest Link, and featured live performances from Lewis Capaldi and Diversity. £35 million was raised for charity.

Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable returns for a second series

The comedy show sees the nation’s best comics and favourite celebrities reveal personal stories to convince Mel Giedroyc that they are the most unforgivable person. 

Each episode viewers will get to discover three celebrities' most morally bankrupt behaviour, sins and lies, prompted by Giedroyc and her assistant, comedian Lou Sanders, to find out all the gory details of their indiscretions.

Series one saw celebrities like Jennifer Saunders, Jo Brand, Graham Norton, Gemma Collins and Harry Redknapp reveal their unforgivable secrets. 

Mel Giedroyc to front new woodwork competition series on Channel 4

Comedian Mel Giedroyc will present the competition, introducing the demanding briefs to the contestants and overseeing their completion of the builds in the woodlands.

Giedroyc said: “In the words of Ian Faith, the manager of Spinal Tap, ‘... in the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful.’

“I would add to that by saying that in the topsy-turvy world of 2020 IN GENERAL, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is pretty much ESSENTIAL.

Dave announces brand new panel show hosted by Mel Giedroyc

According to Ben Wicks, executive producer at Expectation, Geidroyc will be performing “a vital public service: deciding which of Britain’s funniest and most entertaining people are the biggest wrong uns.”

Each week Geidroyc will invite three celebrity sinners to a group confessional, to find out who’s committed the most ‘unforgivable’ sins. In other words, the worst behaviour wins.

Leading the proceedings, Geidroyc will share some of her own shameful secrets to ensure her guests don’t hold back when it comes to sharing theirs.

Sky releases first look image of comedy starring Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins

The six-part series, written and created by Joe Parkham and Joe Markham, follows two best friends, Fran (Perkins) and Jamie (Giedroyc), who only have each other to rely on as they try to move forward in the world.

The only thing is, they kill people for a living which adds a certain element of complication to their lives.

Joe Parkham and Joe Markham commented: “We can’t believe that something which has been knocking around inside our heads for so long has been brought to life by two of the funniest people in the country, along with a load of our other comedy heroes.”

Mel and Sue star in new Sky One comedy Hitmen

Produced by Tiger Aspect, Hitmen (working title) will be a six-part original comedy that tells the story of contract killers Jamie (Mel Giedroyc) and Fran (Sue Perkins). The duo are not your average assassins, however, nor the most professional, as the pair botch up assassinations and work from a scruffy van. Their incompetence sees the pair thrown into ridiculous adventures, testing their friendship along the way.
