The RTS’s number one priority is the safety of its communities. In light of the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, we have taken the decision to either postpone or cancel all of our upcoming events for the next few months.
Where we have the right opportunity, we shall be creating additional content for you to enjoy remotely. Please stay safe in these challenging times and thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Royal Television Society Devon & Cornwall Centre runs its own programme of public lectures, technical workshops, Student Awards and social events throughout the year.
Student Television Awards
There are a number of colleges and universities in the Devon & Cornwall who enter our prestigious annual event, The RTS Student Television Awards. Entries are judged and awards presented as part of our Annual Awards Ceremony. The standard is always exceptionally high. Winners from the 6 categories go forward to be judged as part of the National Awards in London and the Devon & Cornwall Centre regularly has winners in their categories in the national awards.
For more information about the Student Awards contact Jane Hudson, Event Manager at RTSdevonandcornwall@rts.org.uk
Breaking into Media
The essential guide to Getting in and Getting on panel returns with the best advice from a range of industry experts from the world of TV, Film and Journalism, as to how to get ready to work. This will be followed by the ever-popular networking lunch where students can seek further advice and gain essential contacts for the future. A number of attendees last year reported that they secured work experience directly following the event at companies across the region.
