Trauma focuses on two fathers Jon Allerton (Adrian Lester) and Dan Bowker (John Simm), whose lives collide when Bowker's teenage son is fatally stabbed, dying in Allerton's trauma unit. 

Bowker blames trauma surgeon Allerton for his son's tragic death and embarks on a desperate hunt for justice he struggles to deal with his loss, with Allerton as his target. 

As Bowker unravels every aspect of Allerton's life, it poses the question: is his grief overpowering his judgment or is there more to Allerton than meets the eye?

The teaser clip shows Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) and Prince Albert (Tom Hughes) at the Christening of the couple’s first child, Princess Victoria, known as Vicky.

The second series will again be written by creator and executive producer Daisy Goodwin, and viewers will see Queen Victoria face new challenges both at home and abroad.

Victoria will be figuring life out as a working mother, balancing her responsibilities as both parent and Queen. However, Prince Albert is still struggling to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife as she returns to her duties.

Fearless stars Helen McCrory (Harry Potter, Peaky Blinders) as Emma Banville, a human rights lawyer known for defending lost causes and unsolvable cases.

The six-part series is created by Homeland and 24 writer Patrick Harbinson and is produced by Mammoth Screen.

The special programme, to be broadcast on Monday 29^th May, has been announced as part of Sky’s coverage of the upcoming General Election, and will feature the first leader interviews of the campaign in front of a live audience.  

In the 90-minute programme, Islam will begin with an audience Q&A before Paxman steps in to interview the respective party leader, before the process is repeated with the other party leader. .

Action Team is a spoof spy action series following the exploits of a top-secret team of special agents working for the British government and tasked with saving the world.

Written by Tom Davis (Murder in Successville, Plebs) and James De Frond, this new comedy will star Davis alongside Jim Howick (Broadchurch), Kayode Ewumi (#HoodDocumentary) and Laura Checkley (Bridget Jones’s Baby).

The film will feature contributions from Prince William and Prince Harry, who both speak openly about their mother and how she has influenced their lives.

Their Royal Highnesses will also offer their perspective on Diana's contribution to public life, including her charitable and humanitarian work. Topics such as child bereavement, homelessness and HIV and AIDS will be explored.

The documentary was commissioned for ITV by Jo Clinton-Davis, Controller of Factual and Sue Murphy, Head of Factual Entertainment.

Tuesday: The Son

The Son is a new ten-part family drama based on Philip Meyers' Western novel, spanning over 150 years and multiple generations of a Texas family.

After jumping ship from Hollyoaks to Emmerdale, MacLeod explains his excitement at bringing new ideas to the Yorkshire-based soap.

“I’m always looking for ways to do something differently or surprise the audience with something they haven’t thought of before,” he says.

And that he did. During a week-long storyline, which was ten months in the making, the small village turned to chaos when a multi-car pile up left viewers guessing who would exit the soap, with central characters at the heart of one of the biggest disasters in Emmerdale history.

The Frankenstein Chronicles is a detective series set in 1830s London, where Inspector John Marlott investigates crimes that may have been committed by a scientist attempting to bring back the dead.

The first series saw him investigating a mutilated body washed up on the Thames, first thinking it was the body of a dead child. On further examination of the dead body he discovers it's not a child but an assembly of body parts arranged in parody of the human form.

“I’d been at my dad’s paper since I could walk,” ITV Calendar’s Duncan Wood recalls. “I was smelling the ink, seeing the presses rolling…”

It’s a nostalgic image, and one that drove Wood into journalism.

After flunking both his O-Levels and A-Levels, he got a job at his dad’s paper, the Sunderland Echo.

“My dad hated journalists,” he laughs. “He went from office boy to Managing Director. He hated them with a passion.”
