Guests revealed for Big Gay Wedding with Tom Allen

The show will see the comedian spare no expense in putting together the dream wedding for one lucky same-sex couple. The event will mark not just the union of Adam and Dan, but also 10 years of gay marriage being legal in England and Wales.

Along the way, Allen will hear from longstanding activist Peter Tatchell and broadcaster and Women’s Equality Party co-founder Sandi Toksvig (QI). Lynn Sutcliffe and Sarah Hews, who made headlines in 1992 for presenting themselves at Westminster Registry Office to be married – both in wedding dresses – will also make an appearance.

As well as organising the wedding, Allen will look back on the years spent fighting for marriage rights, and his own years growing up gay.  He will meet the LGBTQIA+ activists who made equal marriage possible and reflect on how far gay rights have come over the last decade.

In pursuit of the most spectacular wedding, the couple will be introduced to Allen’s famous friends who will help out with everything from the entertainment to the wedding outfits.

ITV announces series two of Cooking With The Stars

Hosted by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, the cooking competition sees eight celebrities paired with a professional chef who will mentor them so they can go from passionate home cooks to creating food of fine dining standard.

The eight celebrities taking part are professional dancer and TV personality Anton Du Beke, Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes, This Morning’s Josie Gibson, Chaser Anne Hegerty, Love Island’s Maura Higgins, TV expert Dr Ranj Singh, comedian Joe Wilkinson and DJ Woody Cook.  

Dave announces slate of new comedy entertainment series

Richard Ayoade, David Mitchell and Tom Allen are among the talent making their debuts for the channel.

In Outsiders, David Mitchell will challenge three pairs of comedians across six episodes to a series of outdoor challenges.

Ed Gamble, Jamali Maddix, Jessica Knappett, Kerry Godliman, Lou Sanders and Toussaint Douglass will take part in the first series.

Mitchell said: “Civilisation is clearly crumbling so it’s high time we worked out whether we can cope without it.

Channel 4 announces the celebrity line-up for One Night In…Hamleys

The three comedians will be locked in the world-famous toy shop on London’s Regent Street overnight, with no security guards to hinder their fun. 

The trio will have all night to do what they imagined and dreamed of doing in a toy shop when they were kids, with the only rules being no sleeping, that’s cheating, leave everything where you found it, and if they break something, they have to pay for it.

Television executives and young telly talent joined forces for the annual RTS Futures Christmas quiz – hosted by comedian Tom Allen who was assisted by TV presenter Ria Hebden –at Channel 4’s HQ in December.

The team of Channel 5 execs and budding TV talent, the aptly named “Beyoncé Know-Alls”, were victorious. They took home the RTS Futures Christmas quiz trophy plus priority tickets for a live show of their choice, including Dancing on Ice, The Graham Norton Show and The Big Narstie Show. Tom Allen announced as the new host of The Apprentice: You’re Fired

The Apprentice: You’re Fired is the companion show to The Apprentice, during which the most recently fired candidate is joined by comedians, celebrity fans and business gurus to discuss their recent elimination.

Each week, Allen will attempt to find out what went wrong for the unsuccessful candidates, giving his own unique take on events with his signature acerbic wit.

A self-confessed Apprentice super-fan, Allen and the panel will look at the week’s biggest wins and fatal mishaps in front of a live studio audience.

Comedians head home for Comedy Central

The Comedy Bus (w/t) will follow six comedians as they travel to each of their hometowns to see how they have changed over the years.

Joining Dommett and Stirling for a trip down memory lane are Mock the Week regular Tom Allen, Suzi Ruffell, Darren Harriott and Kiri Pritchard-Mclean.

The series will be produced by Sacha Baron Cohen and Andrew Newman’s company Spelthorne Community Television

Nominations for RTS Craft & Design Awards 2018 announced

The prestigious awards will be presented at a ceremony hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen (Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown) on the 26th November at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
