Pike and Bishop will head to Cape Town, South Africa, in the three-part special, on vacation from their day-job in London with Pike’s family.

However, the job follows them as they soon find themselves enmeshed in the kidnap of a young girl.

As Pike and Bishop had befriended the girl’s parents earlier that day, they see it as their duty to rescue their daughter from the kidnappers who demand an outrageous reward for her return.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, the psychological mini-series follows the forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robertson (Emily Watson) whose latest patient Connie Mortensen (Denise Gough) has been accused of a horrific crime yet claims she cannot remember a thing.

With a distinguished career meeting many high security patients, Dr Robertson is rarely shocked, but the psychiatrist is caught off guard by Connie as the pair develop a dangerously close relationship.

Throughout their sessions, Connie begins to anticipate and exploit her doctor’s deepest insecurities.

Created and written by Tom Edge, the six-part thriller follows the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine.

The resulting chaos leads to a tense conflict between the police, Navy and British security, as they each try to deal with the situation in their own way.

The four-part series, written by Neil Cross, tells the harrowing story of a man trying to escape his past.

Nathan (Russell Tovey), tries to do the right thing but he lacks direction and is carrying a long-buried secret that he is desperate to keep hidden.

Having started a new life as a devoted married man, Nathan’s world is turned upside down when a ghost from his past, Bob (Bertie Carvel, Doctor Foster), turns up on his doorstep.

Based on the novel by William Landay, the series was created and written by Mark Bomback.

The series is set in small Massachusetts town, and focuses on assistant district attorney Andy Barber (Chris Evans), whose life is thrown into disarray when his 14-year-old son Jacob (Jaeden Martell) is accused of murdering another child from his class.

The crime has consequences for the whole town and witnesses who claim Jacob did it say he looked “smug and remorseless”.

Certainly, Jack and Harry Williams, the highly acclaimed brothers behind ITV’s Liar, had the issue of complexity in mind when writing the second series of the murder drama. 

Hollington Drive will focus on the lives of two sisters, Theresa and her older sister Helen, who works as a head teacher.

The series opens on a warm summer evening where Theresa and her partner Fraser are hosting a barbeque. When their ten-year-old son Ben asks to go to a nearby park with his cousin Eva, the parents begin to argue over whether they should let the children go.

Written and produced by Vicky Jones (Fleabag), Run follows Merritt Wever (Unbelievable) as Ruby Richardson, a woman living a mundane life in the suburbs who drops everything upon receiving a text to fulfil a pact made with her ex-boyfriend seventeen years earlier.

Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) plays Billy Johnson, Ruby’s college boyfriend with whom she made the pact that if he texts her the word “run” and she replies with the same, the pair will leave their old lives behind and meet in Grand Central Station to travel across America together.

Davidson is the senior investigating officer of an unsolved murder, but her unconventional methods raises suspicion at AC-12.

Macdonald is best known for her roles in Trainspotting, No Country for Old Men and has recently starred in The Victim and Giri/Haji.

Filming for series six begins next year and Macdonald will join Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, who have all been confirmed to return.

Nesbitt plays a Northern Irish police detective, Tom Brannick, who is dragged into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse when a car containing a suicide note is pulled out of Strangford Lough.

Brannick connects the note to an infamous cold case that is deeply personal and puts him on the hunt for a legendary assassin.  

Nesbitt commented: “It’s great to be back making a drama in and about Northern Ireland, which now has a film and television industry as good as any in the world.
