Announced via a huge billboard at London’s BFI IMAX, and confirmed on the series’ official Twitter page, Top Boy is set to return on 18 March. Ashley Walters and Kano will reprise their roles as Dushane and Sully, with Michael Ward and Simbi Ajikawo (Little Simz) also returning as Jamie and Shelley.
The announcement of the fourth series comes ahead of the release of series three, Bulletproof: South Africa this January.
Walters and Clarke will return as the dynamic cop duo Ronnie Pike and Aaron Bishop, who find themselves caught up in a vicious murder that puts their jobs, families and lives at risk.
The pair must work together and use all of their skills to defeat the most evasive villain they have ever come across.
“I am so pleased we can continue the journey of Bishop and Pike,” said Ashley Walters.
Pike and Bishop will head to Cape Town, South Africa, in the three-part special, on vacation from their day-job in London with Pike’s family.
However, the job follows them as they soon find themselves enmeshed in the kidnap of a young girl.
As Pike and Bishop had befriended the girl’s parents earlier that day, they see it as their duty to rescue their daughter from the kidnappers who demand an outrageous reward for her return.
With an ambitious programme of activity aimed at supporting the arts through a vital time in the cultural sector, Sky Arts will focus on bringing the arts to more people.
Ashley Walters directs this East London set short film written by newcomer Jerome Holder. Two best friends embark on a journey that will shape the men they will become when they fulfil a promise made to one’s older brother.
Each episode will be written and developed by Dominic Savage, in collaboration with the lead actor of the episode, which will have a personal connection to them.
The series will explore mental health, relationships and trust, through a contemporary female lens.
Produced by Me + You Productions, Suranne Jones and Ashley Walters have been confirmed to star in I Am Victoria, with further casting to be announced.
Canadian Musician Drake is a huge fan of the series and is attached to the project as executive producer. The new 10-part series, which is set to premier in 2019 will pick up where series two left off.
Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson (Kano) will reprise their roles as Dushane and Sully, as they attempt to dominate the London drug trade.
Top Boy’s original creative team, Charles Steel, Alasdair Flind, Ronan Bennet and Yann Demange will return for the project, which was originally broadcast on Channel 4 then made available on Netflix.
James Nesbitt will be returning as Detective Inspector Harry Clayton in a third series of Stan Lee's Luck Man next year, whilst Noel Clarke (Adulthood) and Ashley Walters (Top Boy) are teaming up in police drama Bulletproof.
The original productions are both part of Sky's initiative to bring viewers action-packed British dramas, featuring UK's best actors.
