The findings have been released following the BBC’s disclosure of the wages of on-screen talent paid more than £150,000 annually. The BBC revealed 96 earners who fall into the bracket, including Chris Evans, Gary Lineker, Claudia Winkleman and John Humphreys, however it has been criticised by many for the size of some of the biggest stars’ wage packets.
“There’s a stretch of time from mid-November where I’ll be away for weeks at a time” he says.
I am meeting Rory in the upstairs bar of a pub just around the corner from the BBC in central London.
As I arrive Reid is just polishing off his lunch in the otherwise empty bar. He’s friendly, relaxed, and nothing at all like his famously starving predecessor Jeremy Clarkson.
Reid is one of the main presenters of the BBC’s new and improved Top Gear line up, joining Friends star Matt le Blanc and motoring journalist Chris Harris.
Top Gear was relaunched in May this year with LeBlanc and Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans fronting the broadcaster's flagship motoring show. The pair were supported by motorsport boss Eddie Jordan, champion driver Sabine Schmitz, and journalists Chris Harris and Rory Reid over the series' six-week run.
Bugatti Veyron vs. Eurofighter
In his first test drive of the Bugatti Veyron, Richard Hammond races against a £67million military aeroplane - the Eurofighter Typhoon. Richard 'The Hamster' Hammond had only just recovered from a high-speed crash the year before, but the presenter showed no fear as he reached speeds of up to 196mph in the challenge.
The SVOD platform already shows older series of BBC Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson.
The details of the deal remain vague, however Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos told Buzzfeed News that the show will “fall under the same deals” of international distribution as the existing Top Gear, adding that the deal will be “multi-territory for sure.”
The broadcaster has awarded the contract to experienced independent sports production company, Whisper Films, which was founded in 2010 by Coulthard, BT Sport and former BBC F1 presenter Jake Humphrey and former BBC F1 producer Sunil Patekl.
This announcement follows the news last month that Channel 4 would become the terrestrial TV home of Formula 1 from 2016-2018.
The year is coming to an end, it is time to remember fondly the past year’s television treats, and look forward to what 2016 will bring in TV entertainment.

Since Jeremy Clarkson punched his Top Gear producer, Oisin Tymon, during a row over the lack of a hot meal, the problems of managing talent have been centre stage.
Former BBC Controller of Entertainment Commissioning Jane Lush said that the fracas distilled some of the key questions that executives and programme-makers face: “How powerful is talent, where do you draw the line on bad behaviour and is top talent really irreplaceable?”
