Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit will return to Dave for two more series

Following the success of the first series, the gaming panel show has extended its run to ten episodes per series.

Hosted by Dara O Briain, the series sees celebrities battle it out over five rounds on a variety of computer games, from cult classics to contemporary blockbuster titles.

Each episode challenges the conventional gaming rules and ends with a super sized physical challenge to put participants to the test.

The first series brought a feast of famous faces to take part, including Russell Howard, Rachel Riley, Jason Manford, David James and Bob Mortimer.

Dave gets exclusive rights for Ultimate Strongman

The tournament, which takes place at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, will feature 12 of the world's strongest athletes competing over five events including Atlas Stones, Monster Tyre Flip and the Deadlift Challenge.

Presenting duties will be taken up by Matt Bell and World's Strongest Man 1989 Jamie Reeves, with commentary provided by Sky Sports' Nick Halling and Norwegian body-builder Svend Karlsen.

The two hour programme will be recorded in front of a live audience on 10 December, airing on Dave on 30 December.

Derren Brown: Miracle

Channel 4

9pm

Derren Brown takes his audience in his healing hands in the latest live show from the illusionist. Having already explored evangelical healers in his 2011 programme Miracles For Sale, Brown now performs medical marvels of his own by restoring one woman's sight and curing another of arthritis. Recorded from his tour last year, Derren Brown hosts the event from London's Palace Theatre.

Greg Davies returns as Taskmaster for two more series

The programme has been renewed for two more series and will increase each series run from five to eight episodes. The news comes as the show is nominated for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2016 Broadcast Awards, and became the most watched commission on UKTV's video-on-demand service, UKTV Play, in 2015.

Dave announces comedy tech series

The Joy of Techs will see technophobe Marcus and gadget-obsessed Alexis (Hustle, The Real Hustle) travel the UK completing challenges and activities, taking both old-fashioned and technologically-advanced approaches. Alexis tries to convince Marcus tech is the way forward, while Marcus will do everything to prove the original way is best.

One episode sees the pair go low and high-tech camping, and UKTV bosses have revealed we will also see solar powered cars and flying bikes on the show.

Viceland: the importance of branding

The youthfully cool Vice Media, famous for its guerrilla-style coverage of war zones and drug busts, has built its brand online. Yet it is about to launch a traditional TV channel in the UK and plans to make it available in 44 countries via different partnerships.

It’s almost as if Apple had suddenly unveiled a record deck minus any kind of connectivity. Or is it?

Dave commissions new political satire

The comedy, titled Unspun With Matt Forde, is to feature interviews with leading political figures and will be recorded the day before airing to keep up with unfolding events in UK politics.

Forde, who currently runs a weekly podcast called The Politicial Party with Matt Forde welcoming guests such as Nigel Farage and Alistair Campbell, will be joined by other stand-up comedians in reporting on stories of the week.
