Danny Dyer

Who’s who in Soccer Aid 2024?

Launched in 2006 by Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes, Soccer Aid has so far raised over £90 million in aid of UNICEF UK through ticket sales and donations. It’s also led to many scenes straight out of a fever dream, like the lead guitarist from Kasabian chipping former England first choice keeper David Seaman before getting a pat on the back from his teammate Will Ferrell.

Danny Dyer explores modern day masculinity in new Channel 4 documentary

Known for traditionally ‘masculine’ roles such as EastEnders’ Mick Carter, Dyer will set his preconceptions aside to investigate all of changing gender roles, attitudes towards male mental health, and stereotypes surrounding masculinity.

The Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, mental health experts, fitness fanatics, sex therapists, and male victims of domestic abuse will all be interviewed by Dyer through his candid questioning. Dyer will meet men who believe ‘traditional’ masculinity is under fire, then turn to those who are exploring more ‘progressive’ options.

Nicknamed The Bunker, the living space is purpose-built to block out any light while filming what goes on with its 50 infrared cameras. Over five nights, the series will follow the celebrities as they get to grips with their new surroundings, or else leave The Bunker by shouting "I'm Scared of The Dark!"

BBC Two renews The Ranganation for third series

Ranganathan will this time set foot in a studio, but his focus group of 20 characters representative of modern Britain will continue joining him virtually.

Each week two celebrity guests will also be beamed into the show to help mull over lighter current affairs. Previous guests include Katherine Ryan, Danny Dyer, Aisling Bea, Jo Brand and Richard Osman.

Like the Ranganation itself, the discussions are diverse, with the likes of Technophobe, Gen Z and Never Voted covering anything from paranormal activity to washing your legs in the shower.
