E4 acquires new dating series 12 Dates of Christmas

Set in a wintery wonderland, the series will follow three singletons, Faith, Chad and Garrett, across eight episodes as they search for a special someone to bring home for Christmas.

10 dates await the trio in an Austrian castle, from ugly sweater parties to Christmas karaoke sessions. But just as they start to make connections, new love interests will arrive to complicate their pursuits.

After the dates, they will bring their special one home for the holidays and have to decide whether to commit by midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Channel 4 announces LIVE Joe Lycett: Mummy’s Big Christmas Do

Back in his hometown Lycett will host a one-off big queer Christmas party, which will celebrate the return of Christmas in Lycett’s own unique way.

There will be plenty of Lycett’s trademark wit, tinsel and Christmas spirit. 

The special will include famous guests, musical performances, stand-up comedy and will celebrate all things queer. 

However, the main focus will be on the guests who will be comprised of LGBTQ+ icons, allies and local heroes.

Viewers will also get to see another side of Birmingham, filled with fun games, twists and turns. 

The best 2020 Christmas adverts

To get you in the mood, here are some of the best Christmas adverts of this year. 

Sainsbury’s 

Over the years, Sainsbury’s has delivered some heart-warming and tear-jerking Christmas adverts and this year is no different. 

Celebrating the importance of family at Christmas, the supermarket has released three different adverts that revel in the nostalgia of Christmas moments gone by. 

The advert is filmed as video-style footage of previous Christmas celebrations and phone calls in the present day between family members.

Channel 4 celebrates Christmas at Highclere and Warwick Castle

The two-part series will follow the castles as they get ready for their biggest time of year, Christmas.

Highclere is famous for featuring as the family house in Downton Abbey and is home to the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon. 

Viewers will discover what life is really like at the castle and go behind the scenes with the small team who keep everything running as they prepare for the festive period.

Warwick Castle dates all the way back to 1068 and was built on the order of William the Conqueror. 

Two new After Ever After comedies from David Walliams are coming to Sky

Sky One original Jack and The Beanstalk: After Ever After was created and written by The Dawson Brother and David Walliams.

Walliams will take on the role of the feared giant, with Sheridan Smith playing The Woman with No Name, who is known as the best giant-slayer in the village, and Blake Harrison stars as Dodgy Dave, a sneaky market stall trader who originally sold Jack the magic beans.

The one-off Christmas special will tell the story of what happens after the ‘happily ever after’, with the original story ending with Jack seeming to have defeated the giant.
