Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt and Chris Eubank are among the celebrities braving a pitch-black space for a new Channel 4 reality competition.
Scared of The Dark will see a total of eight celebrities attempt to live in the space together for eight days.
Nicknamed The Bunker, the living space is purpose-built to block out any light while filming what goes on with its 50 infrared cameras. Over five nights, the series will follow the celebrities as they get to grips with their new surroundings, or else leave The Bunker by shouting "I'm Scared of The Dark!"
Meanwhile, they will be set a series of challenges designed to test their primal fear of total darkness and their ability to function in it. If they fail, they will have to complete even tougher tasks to save their spot on the show, for there can only be one winner.
The eight celebrities include: retired pro-boxer Nicola Adams, reality star Chloe Burrows, professional boxer Chris Eubank, former professional footballer Paul Gascoigne, singer Max George, comedian Chris McCausland, TV personality Scarlett Moffatt and actor Donna Preston.
Actor and presenter Danny Dyer, who will host the series, said: “This is possibly one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever done in my career, and I have done a lot of mad things.
"Throw in a bunch of celebs and make them do things with the lights off – it’s proper good telly. You’re gonna laugh, you’re gonna laugh some more and I promise you’re gonna love it.”
Also watching over the celebs will be clinical psychiatrist Dr. Tharaka Gunarathne, who explained what makes the premise so terrifying: "One of the hardest challenges the celebrities face is dealing with the unknown; their psychological sense of uncertainty is at an all-time high.
"When you can’t see, your brain fills in the blanks and often imagines the worst. When you switch off the lights, your ability to stay safe is suddenly threatened, and that is what makes this particularly frightening."
