BBC announces Euro 2016 coverage

Between 10 June and 10 July, the broadcaster aims to cover 140 hours of football news during the European Championship, as well as providing extensive material over all their media channels. 

Former England captains Alan Shearer and Rio Ferdinand will present the cup's matches alongside France's Thierry Henry. Fan-favourite Gary Lineker takes the lead on all television reports, and will appear on digital coverage as well.

Quite aside from having a title to die for, the documentary offers an insight into some of the most vicious spates between neighbours in some of the most expensive parts of the country.

In parts of London where properties can cost tens of millions of pounds, the residents are unsurprisingly a bit on edge about noisy neighbours and their property.

BBC launches new diversity strategy

Targets of the campaign include increasing on screen representation of the LGBT community and reserving more internship placements for disabled people.

The aim is to set new standards for the television industry and better reflect the diversity represented in the general British public.

“The BBC has a breadth and scale that is unique in the UK’s media, and that means what we do has real impact," said Director-General, Tony Hall.

BBC announce Top Gear spinoff

Reid is part of the main Top Gear line up, and is the only presenter to have been found through the show's open auditions.

Filmed at the Top Gear hangar, Extra Gear will deliver behind-the-scenes access, exclusive footage, interviews and specially recorded films to fans of the show.

The show will be available on BBC Three’s live page and on iPlayer immediately after Top Gear finishes on BBC Two.

BBC reveals plans for Eurovision 2016 coverage

Last year's winner Måns Zelmerlöw will present the show from his native Sweden, while UK coverage of the event will be fronted by Scott Mills, Mel Giedroyc and Eurovision familiar Graham Norton. 

"I think it’s just an escape from reality for a week, whether you are watching it on TV or in the host country," said Mills in an interview earlier this week. "You don’t hear about anything else that’s going on the in world and actually for a week it's nice. Also everyone is there for the same reason and it’s the friendliest place on earth."

From writer/director Will Sharpe and starring Olivia Colman (Broadchurch) and Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh), the eccentric Flowers family are undergoing something of a meltdown. 

Maurice (Barratt) is a children's author, while his wife Deborah (Colman) is a trombone teacher. Both are dealing with their own demons, and are quietly helpless as their marriage falls apart. 

BBC to reveal new Doctor Who companion

Doctor Who, Dr Who, Peter Capaldi, Clara Oswald, Jenna Coleman

The reveal will be made during half-time of the FA Cup semi-final Match of the Day Live: Everton vs Manchester United at around 18.00GMT.

The new companion will star alongside current Doctor, Peter Capaldi, who plays the 12th iteration of the character.

The new companion replaces outgoing character Clara Oswald, played by Jenna Coleman, who was written out of the series in the Christmas 2015 special.

Based on true story of Marc Victor, a Radio France Internationale journalist, who ran a restaurant in Kabul for French expatriates until 2008, Kabul Kitchen is a hilarious French-language comedy taking a sideways look at life in the Afghan city.

Jacky runs the popular restaurant, Kabul Kitchen, and all appears to be going well… until his daughter arrived to do some humanitarian work.
