The virtual celebrations were hosted by Mishal Husain, Presenter, BBC Radio 4 and BBC News at Ten.
This year, the ‘Judges’ Award’ was given to all the technical teams in recognition of the ingenuity, innovation and speed they demonstrated this year to keep journalism on the air.
The nominations for the 2018 Television Journalism Awards have been announced.
The awards seek to recognise creative and excellent journalism in news and current affairs by organisations whose broadcasts are transmitted on a UK-based platform, or who create online video content from a UK production base.
Honouring creativity and excellence in journalism for both news and current affairs, the awards will be presented at a ceremony taking place on Wednesday 5 March 2025 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

Awards are made across 30 competitive categories. This year, the Soap and Continuing Drama category has been broadened to admit any drama series with at least 20 episodes.
Kenton Allen, Chair of the RTS Programme Awards, said: “This year is proving to be another year of outstanding creativity, and we have seen – and I am sure will continue to see – genre-defining, high-quality television hit our screens.
“The juries once again are likely to have some tough decisions to make.”
Hosted by journalist and presenter Cathy Newman, the prestigious awards will take place on Wednesday 23 February 2022 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and will celebrate creative and excellent journalism for both news and current affairs.
ITV News editor Rachel Corp accepts the award on behalf of ITV News at Ten for Daily News Programme of the Year at the RTS Television Journalism Awards 2021.
