The RTS Television Journalism Awards 2025 are now open for entries.
Honouring creativity and excellence in journalism for both news and current affairs, the awards will be presented at a ceremony taking place on Wednesday 5 March 2025 at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
For 2025, the RTS has introduced the Digital Journalism category replacing the Innovation Award to celebrate outstanding work where the primary publication point is the organisations’ website, social media applications or other digital platforms. In addition, the previously coined Camera Operator of the Year category is now renamed Camera Person of the Year, broadening eligibility for the category.
Adrian Wells, Chair of the RTS Television Journalism Awards, said: “The RTS Television Journalism awards once again give an opportunity to showcase the very best journalism broadcast in the UK. We are looking forward to the almost impossible task of assessing an enormous quantity of excellent work. Despite the wider challenges affecting our industry the RTS awards remind us of the vigorous health of UK journalism.”
All entries must have been first transmitted on any platform in the UK or made available through a website between Thursday 16 November 2023 and Friday 15 November 2024. The closing date for entries is Wednesday 4 December 2024. For more information please visit: https://rts.org.uk/award/rts-television-journalism-awards-2025
In common with other RTS awards, entrants should bear in mind in selecting their entries that judges are asked to ensure that these awards reflect diversity within the industry and within wider society.
