My Mum, Your Dad is like a lovechild between Big Brother and Love Island.
Its contestants don’t “crack on” immediately or pull each other for chats at the firepit – they are parents with real baggage tentatively giving themselves a second chance at love.
Each of the eight parents have their children nearby to their Sussex mansion in what they call ‘the bunker’ (but in reality is a gorgeous farmhouse). The kids watch their parent’s every move through a live stream and witness every awkward moment that comes with that.
The hit format sees the wholesome role-reversal of a group of twenty-something children overseeing their single parents as they take their first tentative steps back into the world of dating.
With such cross-generational appeal and reality TV icon Davina McCall as host, the debut series received an average of 2 million viewers across all devices.
Previously titled ‘The Romance Retreat’, the dating show sees single parents over 35 move into an English country home in an effort to find true love.
Each contestant has been nominated for the show by their grown-up children, who will have more of a role in their new dating lives than the parents originally thought…
