The South Korean smash hits taking over Saturday-night primetime

Brash, brazen and bonkers, Korean formats such as ITV’s The Masked Singer and BBC One’s I Can See Your Voice (ICSYV) have swept into British homes in Saturday-night primetime, grabbing audiences and plaudits alike.

In slots previously occupied by long-running shows such as The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing, these South Korean formats encapsulate the joy of the new and original.

ITV confirms I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will return to Wales for 2021

Ant and Dec will host the nightly show airing live from the castle ruins, with a brand-new cast of celebrities being put through their paces with gruesome challenges.

After Giovanna Fletcher was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2020, viewers can once again tune in to see action packed challenges and gruelling trials as the celebrities try to win food and treats for the camp.  

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Head of Entertainment Commissioning, said: “We can confirm today that we’ll be returning to Wales for the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

ITV announces the cast for new drama Holding

Brenda Fricker, Siobhán McSweeney, Charlene McKenna, Helen Behan, Pauline McLynn and Conleth Hill have been cast in the four-part drama, directed by Kathy Burke.

Conleth Hill plays local police officer Sergeant PJ Collins, a soft and gentle man who shies away from people and fills his days with eating comfort food and half-hearted police work. 

He lives his life as a loveable outsider but is lonely and lacks motivation for his job. 

When the long-lost body of local legend Tommy Burke is found, Collins must stop hiding away and solve the biggest crime of his career. 

Martin Compston, Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Penry-Jones to lead new ITV thriller Our House

Adapted for ITV by Simon Ashdown, the four-part drama will see Tuppence Middleton (Downtown Abbey) and Martin Compston (Line of Duty) star as estranged husband and wife Fiona and Bram Lawson.

Fiona is left dumbfounded when she comes home one day to find strangers moving in and all her belongings missing. She insists her home isn’t for sale but events begin to spiral beyond her control.

Sheridan Smith begins filming ITV drama No Return

Created and written by Danny Brocklehurst, No Return follows Kathy (Sheridan Smith), her husband Martin (Michael Jibson), their son Noah (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) and younger daughter Jessica (Lily Sutcliffe), on an idyllic all-inclusive luxury holiday in Turkey. 

Kathy and Martin are ready to use the holiday to spend much needed time together to reconnect, but they soon become involved in a living nightmare.
