The channel will uncover the history of homosexuality laws and the evolving perceptions of homosexuality in Britain over the last 50 years in four documentaries and a collection of shorts.

Rob Coldstream, Commissioning Editor, Special Factual said: "History can tell us as much about the present day as it does about the past and I’m thrilled to announce this slate of programmes – it's incredibly wide ranging but at its heart is brilliant new journalism, and a fresh lens onto the past that offers new insights into our own times."

From actor/writer Tom Blasden (Plebs, Fresh Meat), Gap Year tells the story of Sean (Ade Oyefeso) who passes up a sure-fire ‘lads holiday’ to head to smoggy Beijing with his friend Dylan. However Dylan, a hopeless romantic and precocious philosophy student, is secretly scheming, and the Sean find himself travelling the entire continent with his friend.

LEGO Batman will provide various alternative, largely self-congratulatory announcements from this evening until February 5 on Channel 4 in his very own style.

Will Arnett who voices LEGO Batman, will be making references to his own accomplishments and 'awesomeness' at any given opportunity.

The first ad will air at 4.45pm today, followed by 18 unique scripted animated intros to a variety of popular Channel 4 shows.

Dave, 10pm

The adult storytelling series inspired by children's series Jackanory is back on Dave with narrators including Doc Brown, Bob Mortimer, Sheridan Smith.

Grayson Perry: What Britain Wants (working title) will follow Perry as he uses art to explore Brexiters' and Remainers' perspectives on British national identity. 

Perry believes that these are the two great tribes of our time, and wants to compare their hopes, fears and aspirations for the country.

Perry is appealing for the public to get in touch with ideas, images, phrases and photographs, with which he intends to decorate two enormous pots: one for each political camp.

As of now, Perry is accepting contributions on Facebook and Twitter.

Fake news has become an interesting yet controversial topic that has dominated the internet and it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish what is real and what isn't.

As truth becomes increasingly determined by how many likes, clicks, shares or hits, Channel 4 News will explore where fake news actually comes from and the implications it has in a week long series of interviews and discussions.

RDF Television has been commissioned to make the one-off special for Channel 4.

The show will see couples swap households for one week, as they live with families from an opposing side of the Brexit debate.

Wife Swap was first shown on Channel 4 in 2003 and since then has spanned the globe with various takes on the UK format.

Daniel Fromm, Executive Producer of RDF said: “With the Brexit debate dominated by politicians and journalists it will be fascinating to hear the voices of two ordinary families grappling with the issue.”

Monday: Pointless

It's the 1,000th episode of Pointless! This time the hosts do a switcheroo, so Richard Osman takes centre stage and Alexander Armstrong is at the desk with much needed back-up.

From director Baldvin Zophoniasson (Trapped), comes hit thriller Case, which tells the story of deep-rooted abuse and corruption within Reykjavik. 

It all begins with the discovery of a young ballerina found hanged on the main stage at the National Theatre. The incident is deemed a suicide, but three determined individuals believe there is another story to be told and not everything is what it seems.

On a mission to uncover the truth of what really happened, their paths will cross as their investigations uncover crimes worse than murder. 

It’s much more interesting to watch people fall in love than fight,” said producer Molly Sayers at an RTS Futures event in late November, which turned the spotlight on Channel 4’s popular First Dates.

The Twenty Twenty Television production is that rare thing among dating shows: it wants audiences to like, not laugh at, its lovelorn participants.
