Tony Robinson & Susannah Lipscombe explain why there's always time for history on television

To paraphrase the renowned historian EH Carr’s question, what is TV history? Is it knowledgeable big beasts – David Starkey, Mary Beard, Simon Schama and Lucy Worsley among them – lecturing as they stride across the historical stage? Or is it “living history”, where modern-­day Britons relive the experiences of their ancestors, as in The Victorian Slum? Or is it the long-running series Who Do You Think You Are?

Top Boy: Netflix resurrects hit British drama for season 3

Canadian Musician Drake is a huge fan of the series and is attached to the project as executive producer. The new 10-part series, which is set to premier in 2019 will pick up where series two left off.

Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson (Kano) will reprise their roles as Dushane and Sully, as they attempt to dominate the London drug trade.

Top Boy’s original creative team, Charles Steel, Alasdair Flind, Ronan Bennet and Yann Demange will return for the project, which was originally broadcast on Channel 4 then made available on Netflix.​

Channel 4 Factual get into drama with Shamed

Shamed (w/t), which stars Game of Thrones actress Faye Marsay, centres around the cool and calm Sarah Ivy, whose world collapsed around her 10 years previously.

With the help of her brother she kidnaps two men, Nathan (Nick Blood - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Mani. The duo claim not to know Sarah or what she would want with them, however a connection is soon revealed...

RTS Bristol at Digital Bristol Week

The innovative campaign for the first series in 2015, which displayed no Channel 4 logos, was designed to hoodwink the public into thinking that “synthetic humans” were available to purchase.

As part of a teaser campaign for the series, the 4Creative team – including senior digital producer Savvides – created a fictional brand, “Persona Synthetics”, which manufactures the “synths” –artificial humans – in the programme.

Ant Middleton takes on a new challenge in Channel 4 show Escape

What would you do if your plane crashed into a light aircraft in the middle of the desert? How would you escape?

This is the task facing Ant Middleton (SAS: Who Dares Win) and a team of real-life engineers in Channel 4's bold new series Escape.

The series follows a group of skilled engineers stranded at a crash site away from any sort of civilisation. Each episode will see a new team of engineers in a different and dangerous terrain, from the desert to a glacier.
