Lady Macbeth's William Oldroyd to direct new Channel 4 drama Chimerica

The powerful new series is set against the run-up to the 2016 US Presidential election, focusing on the relationship between China and the US and several issues that affect society today.

An American photojournalist tries to discover the truth behind the iconic image that launched his career nearly 30 years previously.

The famous image is of a man facing down a tank in China’s Tiananmen Square protests in 1989. Years later, the journalist seeks out the Chinese man in the photo following accusations of fake news.

Channel 4 to unveil the face of Britain’s oldest skeleton

The one hour film will air as a part of Channel 4’s critically-acclaimed Secret History strand and follows the UK’s most ambitious ancient DNA project to date.

The skeleton goes by the name of Cheddar Man because of where he was unearthed, Gough’s Cave in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset over 100 years ago.

He has had his DNA analysed by top scientists from University College London and the Natural History Museum.

Hulu reveals first look at second series of The Handsmaid's Tale

The second installment of the dystopian drama will follow Offred’s (Elisabeth Moss) journey after she is taken from Gilead, as it was left ambiguous at the end of the first series as to whether she was being sent for punishment by The Eyes, or to safety with the Mayday revolution.

As she takes steps to protect her unborn child from the threats of Gilead, Offred is also faced with her conflicting feelings for Nick (Max Minghella) following her discovery that her husband Luke (O-T Fagbenle) is alive and safe.

RTS Midlands hosts Channel 4 masterclass in developing factual formats

Dunnett was able to draw on her vast experience of developing and making programmes for all terrestrial channels. She joined Channel 4 from Scottish indie Raise the Roof in 2016 where her credits included BBC One’s Holiday of My Lifetime with Len Goodman.

The masterclass helped students understand how different types of programmes fit into the schedules by unpicking popular programmes to show the simple rules of formatted factual.

The RTS Midlands event was held at the National Motorcycle Museum on Solihull on the same day as the Centre’s Programme Awards.
