The TV exec – the creative brain behind huge TV hits Gogglebox, Wife Swap and Faking It – was in conversation with Lisa Campbell, director of the Edinburgh International Television Festival, in early December
RDF Television has been commissioned to make the one-off special for Channel 4.
The show will see couples swap households for one week, as they live with families from an opposing side of the Brexit debate.
Wife Swap was first shown on Channel 4 in 2003 and since then has spanned the globe with various takes on the UK format.
Daniel Fromm, Executive Producer of RDF said: “With the Brexit debate dominated by politicians and journalists it will be fascinating to hear the voices of two ordinary families grappling with the issue.”
Stephen Lambert looks a bit like Lenin – bald, with steely blue eyes and a bit unyielding. He can claim to be the man who revolutionised factual television, bringing us so many of the formats that dominate the schedules, from Wife Swap, The Secret Millionaire and Undercover Boss to Faking It.
His most recent hit is Gogglebox, the Channel 4 offering that united David Cameron and Nick Clegg in admiration, when asked during the election campaign which shows they enjoyed.
