Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson to go head to head as Prince Andrew and Emily Maitlis in Netflix's Scoop

Gillian Anderson will star as Newsnight presenter Emily Maitlis who, in 2019, interviewed Prince Andrew on the programme about his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Rufus Sewell will play Prince Andrew in the appearance which would go onto make headlines around the world.

Date announced for Sex Education series three

The much-loved comedy series is back once again, following the sexual exploits and general mishaps of the students at Moordale High. 

The second series saw Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Maeve’s (Emma Mackey) illicit sex clinic discovered by Otis’ sex therapist mother Jean (Gillian Anderson).

Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) was caught in a love triangle with new student Rahim (Sami Outalbali) and former school bully Adam (Connor Swindells), who was learning to make peace with his sexuality.

“I don’t think any of us realised the scope that Netflix brings - being on the platform and being available around the world immediately for anyone to watch on their phone or their TV,” he told the RTS.   

“It’s insane. I’d worked in film where there’s a build up to the release date, but to have it all there at the touch of your fingers was quite surreal.   

Netflix reveals first look at The Crown’s Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana

Gillian Anderson (Sex Education) will play Britain’s first female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, while Emma Corrin (Pennyworth) will play Princess Diana.

The fourth series is set to cover Thatcher’s term and her relationship with Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman), as well as the courtship between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Lady Diana Spencer and their wedding in 1981 where she becomes Princess.

Netflix has also released images of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh (Tobias Menzies), and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

Netflix releases first look trailer and premiere date for The Crown series four

A short trailer accompanied the announcement, in which Olivia Colman’s Queen Elizabeth II declares: “Something as important as the monarchy simply cannot be allowed to fail.”

The trailer also introduced the characters of Margaret Thatcher and Princess Diana, played by Gillian Anderson and Emma Corrin.

The coming series will follow the arrival of Thatcher as Prime Minister and Diana’s turbulent relationship with Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor).

The series will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime for viewers in the UK, Germany, Austria and Japan in 2017.

The show boasts an all-star cast including Ricky Whittle (The 100, Austenland), Ian McShane (Pirates of the Carribbean), Emily Browning (Legend), Gillian Anderson (The X Files, The Fall) and Kristen Chenoweth (Glee, Wicked).

BBC unveils cross-platform Wimbledon coverage

She will be taking to the air on BBC One and BBC Two throughout the Championships, and bringing viewers the latest Wimbledon action.

Joining the BBC’s presenting team are former World No. 1 players Lleyton Hewitt and Jim Courier and former British No. 1 Annabel Croft.

They will be joining an extensive team of expert analysts and commentators including Tim Henman, Tracy Austin, Andrew Castle, John Inverdale and Martina Navratilova.

Coverage begins at 11.30am on Monday 27 June on BBC Two.
