Dreams of a white Christmas may be over for this year but there’s still a chance to delve into snowy terrains through the screen in new nature documentary Snow Animals.

Start your engines! RuPaul’s Drag Race has finally made its way across the pond for a UK makeover – and a weekly podcast from BBC Sounds for even more content about the nation’s favourite drag queens.

After 11 series of the popular US drag competition, diehard fans rejoiced when it was announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race would be heading to BBC Three for the first UK series.

Series one was met with critical acclaim, gaining 6.5 million iPlayer requests just over halfway through the series.

BBC Three has opened applications for the next series, ready to find another group of queens who will show off their talents and slay the competition.

During series one, the queens faced several challenges to test all elements of their drag ability, from forming standout girl bands, to strutting down the runway in a regal creation.

Host RuPaul thanked the BBC and fans for the “overwhelming” support for the UK series.

The series will be available exclusively on BBC Three on 3rd October at 8pm, with episodes available weekly on BBC iPlayer.

Ten unique drag queens will be competing to win the title of the UK’s first Drag Race Superstar, having all been picked by Mama Ru herself.

A sneak peak of the first episode has been released, which includes judges Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and guest judge Andrew Garfield. 

The first challenge requires the queens to showcase two royal looks that will rule the runway.

The eight-part series will showcase the UK’s most fabulous drag queens, under the watchful eyes of judges RuPaul and Michelle Visage.

Each week the glamorous pair will be joined by a celebrity guest judge with Graham Norton and Alan Carr rotating as resident judges on the panel.

There is something for everyone with some Christmas crackers in the line-up and retiring to your sofa after a stressful day’s shopping is sure to get you in the festive spirit.

The channel is remaining tight-lipped on the nature of the programme, but its Head of Entertainment, TV Events and Sport, Ed Havard, announced that he has commissioned a one-hour pilot from Hart and her production company King Bert.

Hart won a host of RTS awards for her sitcom Miranda, including the Programme Award for Comedy Performance two years in a row, in 2010 and 2011.

Havard has also announced two further commissions for entertainment shows.

The show is set to be packed with amazing prizes and hysterical games, providing good family entertainment.

Alan Carr said, “I'm so excited to be the new host of The Price is Right. It's proper bucket list territory for me as I loved it when I was growing up and now for me to be at the helm of such a legendary show is a dream come true. It just leaves me with one thing to say ... COME ON DOWN!”
