RTS / Atos Young Technologist 2018

Gareth graduated from the BBC Broadcast Engineering scheme with BEng Hons after joining as an Engineering Apprentice in 2013. Following his graduation he joined BBC Wales as a Technology Support Engineer based in Cardiff, supporting TV and Radio facilities for multiple National Radio Stations and TV programmes in both English and Welsh language. He has also been involved in the training and development of the new systems being installed due to the relocation of BBC Wales in 2019.

RTS Scotland Student Television Awards 2018

On the last evening in January, nominees, lecturers and various professionals from across the industry met in Cottiers theatre in Glasgow's West End to celebrate Scotland’s burgeoning talent and congratulate the winners of the 2018 RTS Scotland Student Television Awards.

The ceremony was hosted by Glasgow’s very own queen of comedy Karen Dunbar, who kept the crowd roaring with laughter from beginning to end - pausing only to applaud each of the winners and nominees for their outstanding entries.

RTS Wales Centre Student Television Awards 2018

On January 31st, RTS Wales Centre held an Industry Day event in conjunction with the Film and TV School Wales/University of South Wales.  The day included a conference to celebrate and discuss the future of TV in Wales, an industry fair, networking opportunities, and masterclasses.
