The first look and trailer to the highly anticipated adaption of the New York Times bestseller, Daisy Jones and the Six, has been released by Prime Video.
Loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac, the fictional band Daisy Jones and the Six are one of the biggest bands in 70s America; until they mysteriously split up right at the height of their career.
Over 10 episodes, the series will unpack what tore the band apart, told through interviews with Daisy and the six.
Daisy Jones, the band’s lead singer, will be played by Riley Keough (The Girlfriend Experience), Granddaughter of rock icon Elvis Presley.
The Six will be comprised of Sam Claflin (Peaky Blinders) as Billy Dunne, Suki Waterhouse (Love, Rosie) as Karen Sirko, Sebastian Chacon (Emergency) as Warren Rhodes, and Josh Whitehouse (Poldark) as Eddie Roundtree. Camila Morrone (Death Wish) will be joining them as Camila Dunne, the wife of Billy.
The first pictures and trailer hint at a love triangle between the two lead singers, Daisy Jones (Keough) and Billy Dunne (Claflin), and Billy’s wife Camila (Morrone).
The trailer sees the lead singers’ relationship begin with drawn out glances at one another, as Daisy says to Billy: “tell me there is nothing going on with us”. As well as the love and betrayal, we also see Daisy Jones and the Six rise from a small-town band to international stars.
The soundtrack will be released alongside the series and has been written by the likes of award-winning artists Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham, Marcus Mumford, and Jackson Browne, with Blake Mills fronting the project.
Two singles, ‘Look at us Now (honeycomb)’ and ‘Regret Me’ have already been released and are performed by Keough and Claflin. 24 original songs have been written for the series in total and will be joining the two singles on all streaming sites.
The series comes from Amazon Studios and Hello Sunshine and is executively produced by Reece Witherspoon and Lauren Neustader.
Daisy Jones and the Six will premiere on Amazon Prime on 3 March 2023, with new episodes arriving every Friday.
