Elaine C Smith, star of the BBC primetime sitcom Two Doors Down will share the secrets of the programme’s network success at a special RTS Scotland Anatomy of a Hit session to be held at City of Glasgow College.
When Holiday of My Lifetime with Len Goodman won the daytime factual programme award at the last RTS Scotland Awards the judges praised the “excellent presenter and good reinvention of the holiday genre and celebrity biog…Brilliant casting of personalities, all of whom were very enthusiastic and obviously loved the experience… nice interweaving of social history with fun.”

There you’ll have the opportunity to meet the heads of production and managing directors of some of Scotland’s leading production companies currently making some of the UK’s most loved Scripted programming.
If you dream of penning episodes of Coronation Street or River City; or have your very own script masterpiece you think commissioners would fight over, then this is the event for you. This RTS Scotland writer’s event is aimed at budding TV writers keen to break into the world of TV drama.
You’re invited to meet a brilliant panel of writers, who have written for some of the top dramas of recent years, and will share their experience and words of wisdom at this special event.
Following the discussion, attendees will be invited to network with the panel over drinks.
The BBC Comedy Festival took place in Glasgow on Wednesday 22 – Thursday 23 May 2024.
RTS Scotland were in attendance on Thursday 23 May 2024. As well as panels and masterclasses with iconic comedy stars and industry professionals, there were stand-up acts and short film screenings for new talent and a range of new opportunities for comedy producers were announced.
