Big Mood

Channel 4 recommissions Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West sitcom Big Mood

Lydia West, a British-Caribbean woman in her thirties, hugs Nicola Coughlan, a white woman in her thirties, against a pink backdrop. Coughlan's mascara is running slightly, seemingly from crying

In series two, it will have been a year since Maggie (Coughlan) and Eddie (West) last spoke. Eddie has since befriended spiritual healer Whitney, and become much more mature. This is, of course, terrible news for Maggie. Are the two still compatible? Or will their friendship be lost forever?

“Deeply grateful to everyone who loves our mad, funny, sad show,” said Nicola Coughlan. “It’s been one of the greatest joys of my life making it, and I’m beyond delighted that we get to come back and tell the next chapter of Maggie and Eddie’s story. Rats at the ready.”

The six-part series centres around best friends Eddie (West) and Maggie (Coughlan). Their relationship has endured a decade of highs and lows, but now, the real world is calling. Both need to consider their careers, while Maggie has to contend with the unwelcome return of bipolar disorder.
