From her first days working in television as a founder member of Meridian, the South of England regional ITV company, Jane Turton knew that she’d landed in exactly the right place professionally.

“I’ve always loved being in TV. It’s full of interesting people,” she says. “TV is always exciting. The product – if we’re allowed to call it that – is fascinating – part manufacturing business, part creative, part art, part commerce. TV brings all that stuff together in a way that is challenging and interesting.”

The first series originally aired on BBC Two earlier this year and the finale became the channel’s highest rated episode for a new factual entertainment programme since 2016.

Celebrity Race Across the World will follow four famous faces as they embark on a journey across the world with no mobile phones, internet access or access to air travel.

Joined by a loved one, the celebrities will be expected to travel thousands of miles with only the cash equivalent of a one-way flight to their last destination.

Rylan Clark-Neal will present a new BBC One fashion makeover show, You Are What You Wear, which gives people the chance to makeover their look with the help of professional stylists.

Also coming to BBC One is new series, Easy Ways To Live Well, in which Steph McGovern and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall team up to bring people tips on how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Returning to BBC Two following the hit ratings for series one, is global travel series Race Across The World, which has been confirmed for two further series.
