First look images released for BBC drama Marriage

The four-part drama, written and directed by Stefan Golaszewski, shows an intimate look at the lives of married couple Ian (Sean Bean) and Emma (Nicola Walker) as they navigate the highs and lows of a 30 year marriage. 

Providing a realistic look at what makes a long-term intimate relationship, the drama sees the couple deal with the insecurities, ambiguities, hopes and fears that occur within a marriage. 

The rest of the cast includes James Bolam as Gerry, Emma’s father, Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Jamie, Emma’s Boss, and Chantelle Alle as Jessica, Ian and Emma’s daughter.

The drama will see prolific stage and screen writer Abi Morgan OBE (Suffragette) make her directorial debut, after writing all three series of the show.

Set within London’s fast paced and cutthroat high-end divorce industry, the series explores the highs and lows of marriage and the legacy and complications of divorce.

The Split to return for a third and final series

From writer Abi Morgan, The Split is set in the world of London’s high end divorce circuit, examining the realities of marriage and the long reaching consequences of divorce.

The Split focuses on the complicated lives of the Defoe sisters, dependable Hannah (Nicola Walker), hedonistic Nina (Annabel Scholey) and free-spirited Rose (Fiona Button), and their tough mother Ruth (Deborah Findlay).

UKTV commissions Radio 4 adaptation Annika

The six-part series, produced by Black Camel Pictures, is based on the Radio 4 drama written by Nick Walker. 

Nicola Walker will take on the role of DI Annika Strandhed. Known for being quick-witted and mysterious, Strandhed is the new head of a specialist Marine Homicide Unit, which investigates the brutal and bewildering murders that are discovered in the waterways of Scotland. 

Strandhed invites the audience into her world by breaking the fourth wall and revealing her thoughts on the cases and her own life.
