New Wirecard scandal documentary heads to Sky

German filmmaker Gabriela Sperl is developing the film alongside producer SFFP, which tracks the rise and fall of the financial payments firm Wirecard.

Once regarded as the posterchild for German tech innovation, the firm collapsed in June 2020 after it was revealed that €1.9 billion was missing from its accounts.

The documentary spells out the international web of lies, cover ups and money laundering that led to the swindle.

Sperl has exclusive access to those closest to the scandal, including several informants.

Cara Delevingne to front new documentary about human sexuality

Planet Sex will see Delevingne explore some of the biggest topics in human sexuality, including gender, sexual orientation, relationships, pornography and sexual tastes.  

The six-part series, produced by Naked, a Fremantle company, will see Delevingne open herself up to mind and body experiments and demonstrations in the world’s leading sex research labs, and speak to different communities about their experiences of gender and sexuality.

BBC Two acquires documentary Enslaved: The Lost History of the Transatlantic Slave Trade

Enslaved will tell the story of the millions of enslaved Africans who were ripped from their homes and shipped against their will to the Americas by Western European slave traders.

During these 400 years, over 12 million people were sold into slavery and taken onto slave ships, which saw them packed like sardines and suffering inhumane conditions for weeks, leading to two million dying en-route at sea.

Tom Hardy will narrate All Or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur documentary

The nine-part series, directed by Anthony Philipson and produced by 72 Films, will explore the team's first season in their new stadium and the impact of their manager Mauricio Pochettino being replaced by José Mourinho, plus how the club has dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Guided by Tom Hardy’s narration, the documentary will show how the club performs both on and off the pitch during a crucial season.

At an RTS Zoom event in August, the online audience was given an exclusive preview of the compelling four-part documentary series, ahead of its broadcast on 25 August on true crime channel Crime+Investigation.

Surviving Jeffrey Epstein features the stories of eight women, who testify that they were sexually abused. Epstein, who was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York last year, had been accused of building a huge sex trafficking network of under-aged girls over two decades.

BBC Three announces documentary exploring racism and colourism with Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock

The documentary will see Pinnock discuss her own experiences with racism and colourism in the UK as a black woman, as well as exploring the wider race issues people in the country are facing.

Pinnock’s childhood friend Tash Gaunt will direct the BBC Three documentary, with Kandise Abiola producing, and viewers will get exclusive behind the scenes access to Pinnock’s life as she speaks to friends, family and role models about race and racism, and tackles serious issues that will impact future generations.
