Comedy legends the Chuckle Brothers will be back on our screens for the first time in nearly ten years.
Chuckle Time will kick off on 16 June on Channel 5, and is expected to see the pair watch and react to viewer submitted clips in a You’ve Been Framed style.
The twelve, hour-long episodes promise to be “good-natured family entertainment,” Channel 5 revealed, and will also see the duo perform comedy skits and sketches.
A Channel 5 spokesperson said to i News, “The Chuckle Brothers have spent their lives falling over and making us laugh, and now they are watching us makes fools of ourselves as the public/audience upload fails, flops and funnies onto the internet.”
Although it is the pair’s first TV programme since ChuckleVision ended in 2009, they have found success playing universities and music festivals, including Bestival. They also recently popped up in ITV sitcom Benidorm earlier this year.
Channel 5 is part of Viacom, which today announced the launch of a new free-to-air channel Paramount Network, offering premium scripted drama, including Designated Survivor, Suits and The Mick, as well as comedy and movies.
The channel launches on 4 July, and promises to deliver “high end Hollywood entertainment with blockbuster movies, scripted drama and critically acclaimed comedy,” said Channel 5 Director of Programming Ben Frow.
