MTV International has commissioned a brand new celebrity version of hit reality series Ex on the Beach.
Celebrity Ex on the Beach will follow a group of famous faces as they attempt to find love on a luxury holiday.
However, there will be trouble in paradise when the celebrities’ exes will appear one by one on the island.
Since 2014, Ex on the Beach has grown to become MTV International’s most widely travelled show and in 2018, the series was MTV UK’s second highest performing programme of the year.
“With over 580 episodes of Ex on the Beach commissioned worldwide to date, it’s nothing short of a juggernaut,” said Craig Orr, VP Commissioning and Development at MTV International.
“We have a great line-up of famous faces all desperately looking for love and it promises to be a captivating ride for MTV’s viewers.”
"After nine successful series it's the perfect time to launch a celebrity version of Ex on the Beach,” added Malcolm Gerrie, Chief Executive at Whizz Kid Entertainment. “We have some sensational celebrities lined up in a super glamorous location and we are delighted to be working with MTV International again."
Celebrity Ex on the Beach is MTV’s latest commission and will join Geordie Shore spin-off Geordie OGs, Love Squad and True Love or True Lies? on the channel.
The 15-part series will be produced by Whizz Kid Entertainment and will be transmitted across MTV’s digital platforms and networks over 180 countries.
Filming for Celebrity Ex on the Beach will kick-off in September with the series expected to air in 2020.
