The 11th series of Love Island is right around the corner, with ITV announcing an early June release.
The launch on Monday 3 June will see 10 contestants (often nicknamed ‘the OGs’) enter the villa and pair off. At the end of the episode, a bombshell will enter to shake these couples up, and anyone left single at the next ‘re-coupling’ will be dumped from the island. Over eight weeks plenty more bombshells will enter, with the cast usually totalling over 30.
Only four couples will make it to the final, and then it’s up to the public to vote for their favourite, who will split £50,000 between them.
Episodes air every night of the week, and are followed by Love Island: Aftersun, a panel show which sees Maya Jama, ex-islander Indiyah Polack and Sam Thompson (Made in Chelsea) discuss the events of the episode. The show returns after taking a series break, as Love Island: All Stars took the place of the regular series without the panel show counterpart.
This series, they will be joined by a few more regular panellists, Rizzle Kicks’ Jordan Stephens, ex-islanders Amy Hart, and Chris Taylor, and a rotating cast of celebrity special guests.
Pre-series nine, family and friends were allowed to run social media accounts on behalf of the contestants; however, a ban was put in place due after reports found the admins were subject to a large amount of hate. Although this ban was lifted for Love Island: All Stars, it has been put back in place due to a “continued commitment to duty of care.”
Love Island series 11 will launch Monday 3 June on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX.
