Take a classic reality TV format and add a group of past contestants who know the formula, and each other, like the back of their hand… What could possibly go wrong?

Ex-partners, best friends, and those jilted at Casa Amor; this new batch of islanders have a rich interpersonal history – all of which is detailed over 10 series of Love Island on ITVX.

Taking the place of the winter series, Love Island: All Stars hopes past islanders can forge new connections with each other - their shared experience perhaps leading to a stronger foundation.

Let’s catch up with some old favourites and see what brings them back to old faithful – the Love Island villa…

Georgia Harrison, 29

Series three

Georgia Harrison has been campaigning about the effects and consequences of revenge porn since her time on series three, through online activism and her self-fronted documentary Revenge Porn: Georgia vs Bear.

Harrison is looking for a bit of fun in the last year of her 20s and “someone to TikTok” with, and hopes Love Island: All Stars is the place she’ll find it.

Chris Taylor, 33

Series five

Those who tuned into the highest-grossing film of 2023, Barbie, may recognise Chris Taylor for his role of Ken (crucially, a Ken not the Ken). Turns out Margot Robbie is a huge Love Island UK fan, with Taylor being invited to audition after a chance meeting with Robbie at a premiere back in 2020.

On going back into the villa, Taylor says: “I am going to try very hard to not get pied as many times as I did last time. I managed to get pied six times in 15 days, which has got to be a world record.”

Toby Aromolaran, 24

Series seven

Aromolaran saw great success with his last crack at Love Island, coming out of it with a relationship that lasted over a year. Regrettably, he is now single again, and what better than to jump back on his own personal version of Tinder – the UK’s biggest dating show!

“It’s a running joke with my family and friends that for me to find something serious with a girl, I would need to go on Love Island.”

Kaz Kamwi, 29

Series seven

One of the many cast members who hail from series seven, Kamwi has already formed relationships with much of the cast – namely Aromolaran, who she was coupled up with prior to him being stolen from her in a recoupling. Luckily her series seven bestie Liberty Poole will be looking for love alongside her.

When asked how she will handle seeing an ex in the villa, she says: “The thing is, I’m a bad b**** so I will handle it with as much grace as I can.”

Georgia Steel, 25

Series four

Known for being “loyal, babe” during her first Love Island run, Steel is back for a second chance at love. Having been just 20 when she first competed, Steel says she feels “more knowledgeable and wiser” after dating around outside the villa.

"I'm 25, I have a house, a cat, a nice car - I have everything in life but a boyfriend, so why not give it a go."

Anton Danyluk, 29

Series five

You may remember him from the bizarre moment he gave his number to a shop keeper, for his intense love for Craig David, or from his rollercoaster relationship with Belle Hassan. Whichever way you remember him, Anton is ready to put that all behind him for a second shot at love… apart from his deep-seated Craig David admiration.

Hannah Elizabeth, 33

Series one

Since Elizabeth first entered the villa, she is eight years older and eight years wiser. This time around she’ll be trying to take things a little slower, not like the “proper whirlwind kind of love” that saw her get engaged on the island back in series one. Although a fiancé is not on the cards at present, she is still hoping to fall in love and have a lot of fun whilst doing it.

Jake Cornish, 26

Series seven

Cornish had it all – his relationship with Liberty Poole was a front runner with the fans, and he had the saying that launched one thousand memes (“but Liberty, you’re my girlfriend”). Things quickly turned sour when Poole suspected their feelings were more one-way than she’d hoped, and they swiftly broke up and left the competition just before the final.

Liberty Poole, 24

Series seven

Speaking of the devil… fan favourite Liberty Poole is fresh from Love Island Games, Peacock’s spin off show that aired at the tail end of 2023. Although Poole doesn’t yet know that she will be meeting her ex-boyfriend in the villa, she said in her entrance interview that any such encounter is likely to be “awkward." However, she “wish[es] my exes nothing but the best.”

Demi Jones, 25

Series six

Despite being slighted at Casa Amor by Nas Majeed, Jones managed to get back on the Love Island horse and finished in third place with Luke Mabbott. Having learnt from her 2020 villa stay, she says: “last time I was a little too naive and a little too nice. I’m still going to be my nice and bubbly self, but if I want something I will go after it.”

Luis Morrison, 29

Series one

Nearly a decade after his first villa trip, he’s ready for a second go, this time stating himself as “an open book.” Having come out of his first round with a girlfriend, followed by the first ever Love Island baby (born in 2017), Luis is starting his Love Island journey with no expectations and “no game plan” apart from “to go with the flow.”

Mitchel Taylor, 27

Series 10

Known by many as Messy Mitch, Taylor is one of the most newly anointed islanders to make his way back in the villa. Although messy, Taylor is also self-aware, and says this time in the villa, he won’t be setting his sights on just one woman (a reference to TikTok’s Molly Marsh).

“Honestly when I went in for series ten, I went for Molly, I wanted her. With this one, I am not going to make myself that vulnerable. I am going to play the game.”

Love Island starts on Monday 15 January 2024 on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX.
