ITV commissions a new documentary and drama series about the disappearance of Melissa Caddick.
The ITV documentary Life and Limb: The Missing Millionairess from Freemantle’s Naked will explore the mystery of the disappearance of Melissa Caddick.
Caddick was an Australian millionairess who left her home for a morning run in November 2020 but never made it home.
Three months later a group of surfers on a beach 250 miles south of Sydney made the shocking and gruesome discovery of a washed-up trainer containing human remains.
To outside eyes looking in, Caddick seemed to have it all, she was a successful businesswoman with a family, luxury penthouse and designer wardrobe.
But as the story gripped Australia it transpired that financial advisor Caddick had cheated 74 victims, including her family and friends, out of $AUD23 million.
Her story has generated many competing theories about what happened to her and thousands of news articles.
The documentary will aim to give Caddick’s victims some closure on the tale of mystery, duplicity and missing millions of dollars.
This follows ITV's acquisition of the drama Vanishing Act from DCD Rights, which dramatizes the story of Caddick’s disappearance following her confrontation with the police about her multi-million-dollar fraud.
The three-part series will see Kate Atkinson play Melissa Caddick and Jerome Velinsky play her husband Anthony Koletti.
The series will look at the theories explaining the discovery of Caddick’s dismembered foot inside her running shoe and the betrayal felt by her friends and family as they grieve for someone they never really knew.
Life and Limb: The Missing Millionairess and Vanishing Act will air on ITV and ITVX.
