I Kissed a Boy is aptly named, as all contestants will begin their journey by kissing their new partners upon their first meeting, without even exchanging words.

The 10 participants in the UK's first gay dating show have been paired up by self-proclaimed “fairy-godmother/cupid” and Australian pop icon Dannii Minogue. She says: "When dating fatigue sets in and you are tired of swiping right, or you have not had the opportunity to meet enough potential dates – Mama Minogue is here to help.”

Throughout the series, which will be narrated by Bad Education’s Layton Williams, the hopeful singles will engage in a series of kiss-offs, where they will choose either to stick with their original partner, or save their kiss for someone else and recouple.

As all 10 contestants living in the Italian masseria (farmhouse) have the possibility to be attracted to each other, the chances for love triangles, love squares, and even love decagons are endless.

Meet the boys:

Ben, 28

Edinburgh

Ben describes himself as an old school romantic, who has the “goofiness of Goofy and the grumpiness of Shrek.”

Bobski, 23

Essex

Despite possessing the same amount of letters, Bobski is allegedly a shortening of Robert. Bobski is an ex semi-professional tennis player who loves Ibiza so much, he went four times in a single summer.

Gareth, 28

Kilkeel

Due to his religious upbringing Gareth came out at the ripe age of 24, and since then has been working hard to make up for lost time on the gay scene.

Jake, 27

Swansea

Jake is a keen gardener looking for a partner with a beard, and a similar passion for nature. He would like a chicken, two dogs and two children – seemingly in equal measures.

Joseph, 23

London

Joseph is a performing art student with dreams of travelling the world as an actor. He is looking for a man with good teeth.

Josh, 24

North Wales

Josh is a former Mormon who has taken the plunge and will be experiencing his first kiss on the show. He has openly acknowledged that his first kiss “will probably be rubbish” but is bravely persevering regardless.

Kailum, 25

Brighton

A potential future Drag Queen, Kailum is a big RuPaul fan who has dreams to try his hand at the craft someday.

Ollie, 27

Brighton

Having never found love before, Ollie is hoping the Dannii Minogue and Italian Masseria combination is his cure.

Ross, 27

Manchester

Ross is many things: a self-proclaimed “great kisser”, a tap dancer, a support worker for adults with learning difficulties, and a lover of love.

Subomi, 29

London

Subomi grew up in Nigeria until he was 16, a country where homosexuality is illegal. Since moving to the UK, he’s won several medals in athleisure in the Gay Games and become a parent to several houseplants.
