Disney has confirmed the release date for series two of its award-winning kitchen drama The Bear.
The first saw world renowned chef Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)—all returning for the upcoming series—just about manage to save his family's grimy Chicago sandwich restaurant from financial ruin, thanks to the huge tomato can cash windfall.
The second will see them look to transform the joint into the city's next best eatery which, given the windfall, you'd expect to be plain sailing. But, reads the press release, "it turns out that the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one."
The team will have to juggle the complex bureaucracy of permits and contractors and the creative agony of menu planning. The transformation will also bring the establishment's hospitality into sharp focus.
The entire staff will have to unite in new ways to manage the process, testing both their abilities and bonds.
Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson will be reprising their roles, as will Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon.
It was also recently revealed that Bob Odenkirk, best known for playing the corrupt Albuquerque lawyer Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul, will join the cast.
All 10 episodes of series two of The Bear will be made available on Disney+ on 19 July 2023.
