Channel 4 opens recruitment for scripted Production Training Scheme

The scheme is a key part of 4Skills, which aims to find and nurture talent from across the UK, and is designed to attract people into broadcasting and production from diverse backgrounds.

For the first time in its 15-year history, this cohort of the Production Trainee Scheme is entirely focussed on scripted production, with 12 roles available as either Trainee Assistant Script Editors or Scripted Development Assistants. 

Channel 4 announces new 4Skills career and development initiatives

The schemes will offer real-life work experience and insight into various careers within the industry.

The Channel 4 Production Trainee Scheme, Channel 4 Apprenticeships, 4Studio Placements and the Aspiring Lawyers partnership, together with the 4Skills projects to be announced later in 2021, will provide opportunities to more than 50 people across the Nations and Regions.

ScreenSkills Trainee Finder programme applications open

The ScreenSkills scheme invites 75 more recruits for film and 40 more for television, from a variety of backgrounds, to apply for the scheme that offers paid work opportunities across the UK.

Previous film trainees have worked on Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Peterloo, Stan and Ollie, and Lady Macbeth.

Creative Skillset has launched a Film Accounts trainee scheme to help new entrants kick-start a career in film production.

The scheme is seeking individuals who are as equally passionate about numbers as they are about film.

Responding to industry demand for skilled accounts personnel, a bespoke programme has been created, in partnership with Production Guild, to provide introductory training for numerate individuals eager for a freelance career in the accounting side of filmmaking.
