BT Sport signs new boxing deal

In partnership with BoxNation, new content will be available to all BT Sport customers, and will include at least 20 Saturday night matches across the World, European, British and Commonwealth titles promoted by Frank Warren.

The company has announced other changes including the introduction of Dolby Atmos sound, technology which delivers an intensely immersive experience, allowing customers to feel as though they are in the stadium.

The tournament, which takes place at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena, will feature 12 of the world's strongest athletes competing over five events including Atlas Stones, Monster Tyre Flip and the Deadlift Challenge.

Presenting duties will be taken up by Matt Bell and World's Strongest Man 1989 Jamie Reeves, with commentary provided by Sky Sports' Nick Halling and Norwegian body-builder Svend Karlsen.

The two hour programme will be recorded in front of a live audience on 10 December, airing on Dave on 30 December.

Sky launch virtual reality app

The first version of the app, available for anyone to download for free, showcases a range of 360 videos from Sky and their partners.

Some transport viewers inside popular films, such as Suicide Squad and The Martian, while others invite viewers behind the scenes of iconic sports events such as Formula One and the Tour De France. A Sky News documentary titled Calais: The Jungle, will take viewers to the centre of the refugee crisis.

Sky has also announced two new virtual reality experiences which will become available via the app in the future.

Dave secures 'Haye Day' fight live at the O2

The channel previously screened David 'The Hayemaker' Hayes' memorable return to the ring after a three and a half year break. In January, 3.2 million viewers tuned in to watch Haye knockout Mark de Mori in two minutes.

Dave is now preparing to air Hayes' match against Swiss fighter Arnold 'The Cobra' Gjergjaj from the O2 arena in London, for the next Haye Day event.

David Haye will face Australian boxer Mark De Mori in his comeback fight at London's O2

The former world champion will take on Australian heavyweight Mark De Mori in his first fight in over three years.

Haye, also known as The Hayemaker, said he was "delighted" that his comeback fight would be available to watch on the free-to-air channel: “I was determined to make this comeback fight free to everybody and fans should sit back and get ready for another fun-fuelled ride as I look to regain the heavyweight championship of the world.”
