BBC Three commissions new entertainment show from Dane Baptiste

At its centre is the mythical NASBLAQ, a Stock index for diverse talent which controls their movement up and down the ladder of fame.

In this pilot, Dane and his cast will investigate the workings of the NASBLAQ and attempt to crack the code to success with a series of sketches, stunts, interviews and social campaigns.

BBC Three announces God Shave The Queens with RuPaul's Drag Race UK stars

The eight-part documentary series will give viewers an insight into the hard graft behind the glitz and glamour of the Drag Race UK tour.

The series begins only a few days after The Vivienne won the UK’s first Drag Race and was crowned Drag Race Superstar, with all the queens working together to put on big, showstopping group performances and captivating audiences with their own individual talents, from circus skills, to power ballads.

US comedy series Twenties is coming to BBC Three

Written and created by Lena Waithe, Twenties is inspired by Waithe's own life and follows Hattie (Jonica T. Gibbs), an aspiring young black lesbian writer. Hattie and her friends Marie (Christina Elmore) and Nia (Gabrielle Graham) fight to realise their dreams while living in LA.

While homeless and struggling to make her dreams a reality, Hattie meets a successful writer and producer who gives her a chance and hires her as an assistant on a show.

BBC Three and BBC England announce Northern Voices commissions

With the aim of reflecting the life experiences of 16-24 year-olds in the region, the Factual Development Scheme invited local independent production companies to submit ideas which, if successful, would undergo development and gain a commission.

The Northern Voices collaboration furthers BBC Three’s commitment to uncover original and untold stories from exciting new voices outside of London.

BBC acquires rom-com anthology series starring Anna Kendrick

Exploring the journey from first love to last love, Love Life follows a different protagonist’s search for romance across the ten-episode series. Love Life reveals how the romantic relationships along the way impact someone before they find ‘the one’.

Anna Kendrick plays Darby, a New Yorker who admits she's having a 'life panic' regarding her love life. Kendrick will be joined by the likes of Zoë Chao (Downhill), Peter Vack (Someone Great) and Sasha Compere (Uncorked). Lesley Manville (Mum) narrates the series. 

Cara Delevingne to front new documentary about human sexuality

Planet Sex will see Delevingne explore some of the biggest topics in human sexuality, including gender, sexual orientation, relationships, pornography and sexual tastes.  

The six-part series, produced by Naked, a Fremantle company, will see Delevingne open herself up to mind and body experiments and demonstrations in the world’s leading sex research labs, and speak to different communities about their experiences of gender and sexuality.

BBC Three announces new documentary with Love Island star Ovie Soko

The 29-year-old basketball player became a fan favourite with his witty, charming and laid-back personality in the 2019 series of Love Island, coming third with his ex-girlfriend India Reynolds.

Following the instant fame that the entertainment series brings, Soko finds himself at a turning point in his life where he must choose between exploring a career full of brand new opportunities or return to his former career as a basketball player.

BBC Three acquires new comedy Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens

Created and executive produced by actor, writer and rapper Awkwafina, the ten-part series is based on her real life and sees Awkwafina play Nora Linn, a young woman trying to navigate adult life while living in the outer borough of Queens.

As she tries to deal with the ups and downs of forging her own path and moving towards financial independence, she has the support of her family in her cousin Edmund (Bowen Yang), dad Wally (BD Wong) and Grandma (Lori Tann Chinn).
