“We didn’t want him to become another police officer… We’ve told big, bold stories that gave [Julien Baptiste] a proper journey – he doesn’t just come in and find out some stuff and go home,” said Jack, the older of the Williams brothers by two years. “It’s about doing the right thing for the show and the characters.”

Jack Williams – plus brother Harry and the actors Tchéky Karyo and Fiona Shaw –were speaking at an RTS event previewing the new series of Baptiste, chaired by the critic and broadcaster Rhianna Dhillon.

A totally new but equally unruly crew join Captain Sandy Yawn and bosun Malia White aboard the Lady Michelle, a new 180-foot mega yacht, on their return to Croatia.

The series will see Tchéky Karyo (The Missing) reprise his role as the retired police investigator Julian Baptiste. Karyo will be joined by Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), who will play a British Ambassador whose entire family goes missing during a skiing holiday in the Hungarian mountains.

As the case descends into something far more brutal and dangerous, Baptiste must navigate the secretive and corrupt underworld of Budapest and the unrelenting media to solve this high-profile international case.
