BBC One has announced a new mystery game show called I Can See Your Voice will be heading to the channel, hosted by Paddy McGuinness.
Offering a fresh take on the music game show genre, I Can See Your Voice will provide music, comedy and play-along fun for the whole family.
The aim of the game involves two players attempting to guess who can and can’t sing from a group of mystery singers before them, in order to win a cash prize.
Through a series of amusing lip sync challenges, the competitors must weed out those masquerading as music maestros and whittle down the group to the one they believe truly has the gift of song.
The pair will be helped along by a panel of celebrity experts, who are joined each week by a different superstar singer.
Host Paddy McGuinness said: "A show like this doesn’t come along very often so I am thrilled to have been asked to host I Can See Your Voice. It’s bonkers, silly and the ultimate family night in!
"Everyone can play along at home and I’m looking forward to welcoming the good and the bad to our stage. The show has been a huge success around the world so here’s to making it the one to watch in the UK in 2021."
For the final challenge, the person chosen by the pair will then perform a duet with the superstar singer to reveal whether they can actually sing. If the players managed to choose the right singer, they take home the cash prize, but if they’re wrong, the imposter will pocket the cash.
Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content says: “This addictive, fun and immersive new entertainment series will offer BBC One viewers jaw-dropping reveals and gives the whole family a chance to get involved in this compelling new guessing game.”
I Can See Your Voice will be broadcast on BBC One in 2021.
