Raymond Briggs: Snowmen, Bogeymen and Milkmen

Christmas isn’t the same without The Snowman film, based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 book. Raymond Briggs: Snowmen, Bogeymen and Milkmen is a sweet documentary about Briggs’ life and career and explores the inspirations behind his most well-known works.
As well as hearing from the 84-year-old author himself, the documentary features contributions from actor Andy Serkis (Fungus the Bogeyman), Aardman Animation’s Nick Park and cartoonist Posy Simmonds.
Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenanny
BBC Two, 11.15pm
Jools Holland welcomes in the new year with Michael Bublé, Jess Glynne, Nile Rodgers, George Ezra and Marc Almond in his Annual Hootenanny.
This year marks the 25thHootenanny, and features a familiar line up of musical guests, with Bublé playing songs from his album Love, Jess Glynne singing a new version of I’ll Be There and George Ezra joining Jools and his big band to sing a range of hits.
Jane McDonald & Friends
Channel 5, 9.00pm
Jane McDonald is back from her cruising adventures with a glittery extravaganza to usher in 2019.
McDonald will perform some uplifting tunes, chatting to guests singers Alexandra Burke, Billy Ocean and Gilbert O’Sullivan, as well as surprising members of the public who have helped their communities.
James Bond, Spectre
ITV, 8.00pm
In the latest James Bond film, 007 (Daniel Craig) receives a cryptic message from the past that sends him abroad in search of a Spectre, a sinister organisation and his enemy Ersnt Stavro (Christoph Waltz).
Spectre, released in 2015, is a direct sequel to Skyfall and directed by Sam Mendes.
