In Studio Lambert’s new reality concept one things for certain: where there’s a will… there’s a war.

If you were sadly born without inheritance in your family tree, Studio Lambert and Channel 4 have a plan to rectify that. Named The Inheritance, the programme invites 12 strangers to an English country mansion to fight it out for a pot of cash, left behind by a figure aptly known as “The Deceased.” It’s easy to see why Studio Lambert described it as “part Knives Out, part Succession.”

Luckily for the contestants, prior to becoming ‘The Deceased’, this mysterious benefactor left a series of video messages for them. In a similar vein to The Traitors, the contestants will have to complete a series of challenges in order to grab more of their inheritance.

When it comes to dividing up the estate however, it won’t be so easy. Each participant must use their wit and willpower to convince everyone else that they alone deserve to inherit the money.

Steve Handley, Channel 4’s Head of Reality & Entertainment, says: “The Inheritance isn’t just a battle of strategy, alliances, and inevitable betrayals - it’s a cocktail of drama, jeopardy, and outright mischief that Reality fans love. I can’t wait to see how our players handle the challenges, the twists, and a few sneaky surprises.”

Studio Lambert’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Harcourt, adds: “We often work together in life and yet some team-members seem to get so much more than others. This incredible game - part Knives Out, part Succession - can finally show us why this happens… and what better way to explore the notions of fairness and entitlement than through the delicious prism of a fight over a will.”

The Inheritance is made by Studio Lambert for Channel 4 and does not have a release date set.
