The Traitors US is coming to BBC iPlayer, kicking off the same day the UK series ends. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the series differentiates itself from its British counterpart by featuring celebrity contestants, largely from reality TV.

The contestants are divided into ‘Traitors’ and ‘Faithfuls’, who will then compete to win $250,000. The Traitors will operate covertly, ‘murdering’ Faithfuls nightly, and try to avoid being discovered and banished at the round tables.

This series’ contestant line-up includes: Britney Haynes and Danielle Reyes from Big Brother US; Tony Vlach, Rob Mariano, Jeremy Collins and Carolyn Wiger of Survivor; and Dorinda Medley, Robyn Dixon, Chanel Ayan and Dolores Catania from the Real Housewives franchise.

From Real Housewives spin-off Vanderpump Rules comes Tom Sandoval (read: Scandoval) who caused an internet storm following his very public affair, after cheating on one Vanderpump Rules castmate with another.

Also competing are Dylan Efron from Down to Earth with Zac Efron (otherwise known as Zac Efron’s brother), real estate agent Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset, Bob Harper host of The Biggest Loser, Ciara Miller of Summer House, and Wells Adams and Gabby Windey of The Bachelorette.

Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen has already had a few viral moments whilst The Traitors airs in the US, notably by saying the line, “you are misguided… if you were a Drag Queen that would be your name, Miss Guided” when accused.

Wes Bergmann of The Real World: Austin entered the competition as a secret contestant alongside Big Brother’s Derrick Levasseur, after being held in cages, that might look familiar if you’ve been watching the UK series.

Last but not least, two figures are making their reality TV debuts: model and actor Sam Asghari, fresh from a divorce with Britney Spears; and Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Queen Victoria’s great-great-great-grandson, and the first openly gay member of the British Monarchy.

The first five episodes of The Traitors US land on BBC iPlayer Friday 24 January, with following episodes airing every Friday – the day after they’re shown in the US!
