Trailer and first-look images revealed for Death in Paradise Australia spin-off

The BBC, Red Planet Pictures and BBC Studios Australia Productions have released a trailer and first-look images for Death in Paradise spin-off Return to Paradise.

The show follows Anna Samson (Wake in Fright) as DI Mackenzie Clarke, an Australian ex-pat working for the London Metropolitan Police. When she gets accused of evidence tampering, the detective makes a return down under to her hometown, Dolphin Cove.

Clarke didn’t leave Australia all those years ago so much as flee, having left her fiancé Glenn (Tai Hara, Colin from Accounts) at the altar. Going back home won’t be easy: will Clarke’s knack for solving crimes be enough to win over her new colleagues?

Lloyd Griffith (Ted Lasso) also appears as Detective S.C. Colin Cartwright, alongside Celia Ireland (Total Control) as police volunteer Reggie Rocco and Aaron McGrath (Gold Diggers) as PX Felix Wilkinson. Cartwright and Clarke don’t initially see eye to eye: putting murderers behind bars seems to be lightwork compared to office politics.

Rounding out the cast are Catherine McClements (Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries) and Andrea Demetriades (The Artful Dodger).

Return to Paradise will arrive on BBC iPlayer on Friday 22 November at 6.00am. The show will begin airing weekly that night on BBC One at 8.00pm.
