McCann became known to reality fans as a cast member on The Only Way Is Essex, later appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Until recently, she also had her own show, Ferne McCann: First Time Mum, documenting her experiences as a new parent.

“I'm so excited,” she said. “It’s going to be a huge challenge but I’m excited for the glitz and glamour of the show.”

Mollie Pearce

You may remember Pearce as the runner-up on the second series of The Traitors. She’s also worked as a disability model, having been born without fingers on her right hand.

“I want to challenge myself,” Mollie said. “I’m ready for the challenge.”

Steve Redgrave

Rower

One of Britain’s best-renowned athletes, Redgrave made a name for himself as a rower who won gold at five consecutive Olympic Games before retiring in 2000.

“[Appearing on Dancing on Ice is] like going back to being an athlete again,” he said. “I’ve been competing most of my life.”

Sam Aston

Actor

Aston has portrayed Chesney Brown on Coronation Street since 2003.

“I’m nervous but excited to get going,” said Aston. “It’s going to be nice for the public to see me for me rather than Chesney.”

Charlie Brooks

Actor

Brooks is best known for appearing on EastEnders as the devious Janine Butcher.

“I’m going to embrace the spray tan,” said Brooks. “All I want to do is enjoy it and try not to break my leg.”

Josh Jones

Comedian

Stand-up Josh Jones is known for his appearances on Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

“I’ve not got any skating experience whatsoever,” said Jones. “I did it once for a date years ago and I wasn’t very good: I was holding onto the railings the entire time and we aren’t together now.”

“For a gay man I have no rhythm: I struggle to clap along to a beat, so this will be fun.”

Anton Ferdinand

Footballer

Before retiring in 2019, Ferdinand played for Sunderland, QPR and West Ham. He has since fronted the documentary Anton Ferdinand: Football, Racism & Me.

“One of the things I’ve missed about playing is the structure it gives you. Dancing On Ice will give me that focus but I’m also doing it for my daughter because she loves dance and performing arts. My son always had my football to shout about so this will give my daughter and me something to share.”

Chelsee Healey

Actor

Healey is best known for her appearances on soaps and continuing dramas, including Waterloo Road, Casualty and Hollyoaks.

“I’ve got a bit of rhythm but skating on ice is completely different,” Healey said. “I’m excited.”

“Getting to perform live every week will give me a buzz,” she continued. “I can’t wait for the live shows.”

Dan Edgar

Reality star

TOWIE fans will be no stranger to Edgar, known for his tempestuous relationships and love triangles.

“I like to think I can ice skate a little bit but I’m a terrible dancer so that bit is going to need some work,” said Edgar.

Chris Taylor

Reality star

Taylor has perhaps the most varied CV of any contestant this series, having appeared on both Love Island and Love Island: All-Stars and 2023 hit-of-the-summer Barbie.

“I’m somewhere between absolutely terrified and very excited and I keep flitting between the two quite aggressively throughout the day,” said Taylor.

“I can skate but my dad got the snakehips,” he continued. “Unfortunately, I didn't inherit that genetically from him."

Michaela Strachan

TV presenter

Strachan is best known for fronting wildlife programmes, such as Springwatch, and for having a secret Scouting for Girls song written about her (choice lyrics include “It ain’t gonna happen / For me and the Strachan”).

“[Dancing on Ice is] going to be a big challenge,” she said. “The last time I was on ice was four years ago when I took the kids; I’m not one of those people who holds onto the sides I guess because I was trained as a dancer I’ve got a bit of balance.”

She added: “I’ve always been one of those people who says ‘yes, I'll do that’.”

Dancing on Ice will air on ITV1 and be available on ITVX in 2025.
