In a notable vote of confidence for the awards-sweeping reality competition, the BBC has already announced that The Traitors will return for a third series.
The announcement comes in advance of the highly-anticipated second series, which is due to return to BBC One later in 2023.
Hosted by an inscrutable Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors has won many fans for its gripping game of deception, based on the party game Mafia.
21 million audiences tuned in to watch the likes of Wilf Webster and Amanda Lovett bluff and backstab their way through the voting rounds.
"The BBC," says Head of Entertainment Kalpna Patel-Knight, "will always remain faithful to The Traitors.
"Expect to see more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and of course Claudia at the helm. It will be a thrilling ride for both avid fans and newcomers to the series for sure."
Studio Lambert will once again produce the format, which was originally created by a fellow All3Media company in the Netherlands-based IDTV.
The schedule for series two is yet to be announced, but applications for the third series are now open for those who fancy themselves masters of deception.
