A new Take That documentary entitled 30 Years in the Making will be released as a companion piece to the bands upcoming feature film Greatest Days. The film, which stars Aisling Bea (This Way Up) and Jayde Adams (Ruby Speaking), will be a musical using Take That’s discography about four women who reminisce on how their lives were changed by their favourite boyband 25 years ago.

The accompanying documentary, exclusive to ITVX, will explore the making of Greatest Days and the challenges surrounding bringing the musical to the big screen amid a global pandemic. Juxtaposed with the making of the movie will be the story of Take That’s three-decade long relationship with their fans, and the peaks and troughs of their career, from boy-band fame to the departure of Robbie Williams and Jason Orange.

Alongside band members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, the documentary will feature a variety of Take That fans, from singers Alesha Dixon (Britain’s Got Talent) and Calum Scott, to ex-Great British Bake Off presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, whose sister Coky Giedroyc is Greatest Days’ director.

30 Years in the Making will air on ITVX on June 14 2023, with the accompanying film premiering two days later.
