This week on TV: familiar faces return to Waterloo Road, celebrities undergo a literal baptism of fire and a new BBC drama tackles a 30-year-old cold case.
Steeltown Murders
Monday
BBC One, 9.00pm
After a string of murders in 1973 Port Talbot, three detectives embark on a case that spans three decades, needing the forensic breakthroughs of the 21st century to finally bring justice.
Flipping between 1973 and the early 2000s, the factual drama tells the real story of Wales’ first documented serial killer, the ‘Saturday Night Strangler’, and the shadow it cast over a tight-knit Welsh town. Using 30 year old DNA evidence, will they be able to finally find justice for the families of the three young women?

Nine celebrities drink their own urine under the guise of a radical health and wellbeing retreat.
Luckily spiritual guide Sah D’Simone has other detoxifying options available for his celebrity guests, such as snake massages, a fire baptism, and open grave therapy — which is pretty much what it sounds like.
The celebrity line-up includes reality TV veterans Chloe Veitch (The Circle USA), Meghan Barton-Hanson (Love Island), and Martin Roberts (Homes Under the Hammer), alongside the surprising edition of the late Queen’s 73 year old cousin, Princess Olga Romanov.
Waterloo Road (series 12)
Tuesday
BBC One, 8.00pm
Waterloo Road returns for more drama set in the eponymous school, promising love, friendship, and the cost of living crisis.
Returning with it is former deputy head and fan favourite Andrew Treneman (Jamie Glover), who departed to teach in Rwanda at the end of series four. Alongside his reintroduction, the series will see a looming school inspection, new couplings, and a new student in Myles (Osian Morgan), who is struggling to reintegrate into traditional education after being let go by a prestigious football academy.
Primo
Friday
Amazon Freevee
16-year-old Rafa Gonzales (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio) is on the cusp of everything changing – him and his friends are preparing to leave high school, he’s just met the girl of his dreams, and he’s got a real chance of being the first in his family to go to university.
Growing up on the south side of San Antonio, Rafa is raised by a single mother and five well meaning, but controlling, uncles. Against his better wishes, over the course of the series his friends, family and crush will all influence each other in ways he does not expect.
Primo is based of New York Times bestselling author Shea Serrano’s youth and executive produced by Michael Schur (The Good Place).
Selling Sunset (series 6)
Friday
Netflix
Selling Sunset sees the Oppenheim group, a selection of powerful female relators led by bald identical twin bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim, selling real estate reaching up into the hundreds of millions.
This series Mary Fitzgerald will take on a leadership role, Heather Rae El Moussa will debut her pregnancy, and two new realtors will enter the office, both fighting for their chance to ring the big gold bell.
The office dynamic will see a seismic shift after the departure of fan favourite and anti-hero Christine Quinn, and the breakup of employee Chrishell Stause and her boss Jason after a fulfilling seven-month relationship.
