Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek

ITV

Tuesday, 9pm

Following last year’s impactful documentary Finding Derek, ITV revisits the Garraway family as Derek Draper continues to recover from the effects of Covid-19 at home.

The candid film documents the reality of Kate becoming a carer for her husband as she tries to navigate the challenges of the social care system, from Derek’s arrival home from the hospital in April 2021 through to the build-up to Christmas.

Frayed

Sky Showcase

Wednesday, 10pm

Returning for a second series, the 80s-set dramedy Frayed sees Sammy (Sarah Kendall) return from her native Australia to a small flat in London, as she frantically tries to prove that her lawyer has stolen her house.

Barely able to make ends meet, Sammy is determined to reclaim her luxurious London lifestyle while distracting her kids from finding out what really happened to their neighbour in Australia.

Vikings: Valhalla

Friday

Netflix

A sequel to History’s Vikings set a century after the original, Vikings: Valhalla promises more brutal tales of history’s most notorious Norsemen in the twilight of the Viking Age.

As tensions between the Vikings and the English royals have reached a boiling point and religious in-fighting also threatens the collective, Leif Erikson (Sam Corlett), Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson) and Harald Hardrada (Leo Suter) embark on an epic voyage through oceans and battlefields from Kattegat to England and beyond.

Peaky Blinders

Sunday

BBC One, 9.00pm

The much-awaited final series of the crime drama Peaky Blinders sees Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) prepare for a new life in North America as he attempts to leave a life of crime behind.

Series five ended on the tense botched assassination of his fascist opponent Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), and the new series will see him deal with the aftermath and attempt to discover the truth about who betrayed the gang.

With his enemies circling, Shelby is on the brink of redemption, but his biggest obstacle to finding it will be himself.
